Belgrave Preschool celebrates 50 years with community gathering

Community members, former and current families, and those who wish to celebrate 50 years of early learning have been invited to join Belgrave Preschool tomorrow as it hosts a celebration in honour of the prestigious milestone.
As well as dancing and music, attendees will be treated to face painting and colourful hairspray in one of the first big events for the service since 2020 and the subsequent impact of pandemic restrictions.
“Everyone’s really excited for the party,” early childhood teacher Stephanie Innes said. Posters have been placed around the community to promote the event, and local businesses have donated items for the raffle.
Belgrave Preschool, established in 1971, was connected to the Belgrave Maternal & Child Health Centre, until the health service centre moved. The preschool has supported many families over the years, encouraging community connection even after the children move off to school.
Those interested in attending Belgrave Preschool’s 50 years celebrations are advised to bring coins for games, stalls, raffles and birthday treats.
“”We’ll always welcome anyone who would like to contribute,” the service’s educational leader added.
