Newbridge housing estate makes space for 120 place ECEC centre

Plans have been lodged with Plan SA for a 120 place early childhood education and care (ECEC) service at the heart of the Newbridge housing estate in the town of Murray Bridge South Australia, approximately one hour inland from the CBD.
The plans show that the service is to be built on Maurice Road, in an area previously occupied by horse floats for the adjacent racecourse when it was in operation. As the nearby golf course presents a potential hazard for children accessing outdoor learning the plans also note that extensive tree planting will occur along the boundary to reduce the risk of harm.
Approximately 40 residential lots have been sold in the initial land release, including the entire first stage.
Murray Bridge currently has five long day care services for children in the years before school, with a mixture of profit and not for profit providers, as well as a service which caters for First Nations children and those children considered to be especially vulnerable – Minya Porlar.
Occasional care services are also available, along with an early learning centre at Tyndale Christian School, which serves children from three years and up.
