Educators encouraged to start planning their picnics for National Family Day Care Week
National Family Day Care Week will take place from 2-8 May 2022, and family day care (FDC) educators have been encouraged by Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) to start planning a special picnic to celebrate, recognise and promote the important role family day care educators and services play in the development and wellbeing of more than 94,700 children across Australia.
The annual celebration of FDC generates nationwide attention, and highlights the unique benefits of FDC, positioning it as a high quality, flexible early childhood education and care (ECEC) option for Australian families.
In 2022, FDCA is encouraging all educators and services to hold their own National Family Day Care Week picnic during the week of 2-8 May. Services are encouraged to register their event as soon as possible.
The first 200 FDCA members to register a National Family Day Care Week Picnic (before 27 March 2022) will receive a National Family Day Care Week Picnic Pack containing:
- 24 National Family Day Care Week stickers
- 12 Balloons
- 12 National Family Day Care Week postcard invitations
- An A2 National Family Day Care Week poster.
A number of resources have been created by FDCA to promote, including:
- A programming guide
- Media guide
- Posters
- Postcards
- Social media images for you to share.
