Presented by Professor Sandie Wong, this public lecture addresses the current workforce challenges in Early Childhood Education and Care by discussing the characteristics of a quality early childhood work environment. Professor Wong will draw on current work investigating workforce issues, including exemplary early childhood educators at work and supports for educator well-being.

Associate Professor Jane Page will follow Professor Wong's presentation with a discussion of what teachers have been reporting about their work and workplaces in the context of 3- and 4-year-old kindergarten reforms in Victoria as part of the Educational and Developmental Gains in Early Childhood (EDGE) study. Jane Hunt, Founding CEO of The Front Project will close the presentation by positioning the early childhood workforce discussion within the current policy context.
