Southside Initiative Forum: Early Childhood Education Sector

The Southside Initiative is a collaboration between Woden Community Service, YWCA Canberra, and Community Services #1. The Initiative came about as a response to the increasing developmental vulnerability within the ACT AEDC survey results. It aims to bring together stakeholders from across the southside of Canberra to explore community driven, realistic, and measurable approaches that will assist southside children and their families. This Forum will focus on approaches that are of benefit to children 0 – 8 years and their families who reside on the southside of Canberra.

Susan Williams, Attachment Services Team Leader, Marymead Catholic Care Group - Speaking on Circles of Security Classroom (COS C) training.

Robyn Strangward, Principal, Lisa Planinac, Lyons Early Childhood School , Sam Reeves, Woden Community Services about COS C training in early childhood education settings.

Stephanie Johnston, Community Engagement & Capacity Building Lead, EACH - Developing an Early Childhood Educator Community of Practice.

Theodora Hatzihrisafis, Community Engagement & Capacity Building Lead, EACH - Case study of an Early Childhood Educator Community of Practice in Fairfield, Sydney.

Stakeholders include Government and non-Government organisations that provide services to children 0-8 years and their families, schools and early childhood centres.
