Early Childhood Educators Shape the Future, Says QCCS on National Educators' Day

Queensland Childcare Services (QCCS) is celebrating National Educators' Day by recognising the extraordinary impact early childhood educators have on shaping the lives of children and building stronger communities.
Marking this year's theme, “The Future Starts With Us!”, QCCS General Manager Laura Faalili said educators played a critical role in helping children develop confidence, kindness, curiosity and a sense of belonging during their most important developmental years.
“Children may not remember every activity or learning experience created, but they will remember the people who made them feel important. They remember the adults who believed in them, encouraged them and helped them feel like they belong,” Ms Faalili said.
“As educators, our staff may not always see the impact of their work immediately, but the influence they have on a child's life can last a lifetime.”
Drawing on her experience as both a childcare leader and parent, Ms Faalili said her own children had benefited from the support and encouragement of QCCS educators throughout their early learning journey.
“One day, the children in our services will become teachers, nurses, tradespeople, business owners, parents and leaders,” Ms Faalili said.
“The future really does start in the early years, and it starts with the dedicated professionals who nurture, inspire and believe in them.”
QCCS thanked its educators and early childhood professionals for their commitment, compassion and expertise, recognising their vital contribution to children, families and communities across Queensland.
“Today, and every day, we celebrate the people helping to build strong foundations and brighter futures for our children,” Ms Faalili said.
“I want to wish all of our childhood professionals a Happy Educators’ Day and say ‘You matter. Your profession matters. And the work you do every single day matters’.”
