PRECI launches national road trip to support Best Practice Framework implementation

PRECI has announced a national series of in-person workshops and training sessions designed to support the implementation of the National Best Practice Framework for Early Childhood Intervention.
Following extensive consultation with members across Australia, the message was clear, services are seeking practical, hands-on support to embed the Framework into everyday practice. This national Road Trip is PRECI’s direct response.
Kerry and Denise will travel across the country to meet with practitioners, leaders and organisations, delivering a structured two-day program in each location. The initiative aims to strengthen sector capability, progress national conversations on professional standards, and build confidence in Practice-Based Coaching as a core driver of quality improvement.
A three-part program designed for real-world implementation
Each Road Trip stop will feature three complementary components:
Part 1 - Framework implementation workshop (free)
A practical, interactive session unpacking the National Best Practice Framework and supporting services to translate its principles into daily practice, team systems and organisational processes.
Part 2 - Professional standards consultation (free)
A sector-wide discussion exploring the development of national professional standards for early childhood intervention practitioners, with participants invited to contribute to shaping the next phase of PRECI’s work.
Part 3 - Practice-Based Coaching training (fee payable)
A full-day, in-depth training designed for ECI and ECE professionals, focused on building coaching capability, strengthening reflective practice, and embedding consistent, evidence-informed support for children and families.
Participants can register for individual components, allowing flexibility based on role, interest and availability.
The National Best Practice Framework represents a significant step forward for early childhood intervention in Australia. However, successful implementation relies on shared understanding, consistent application and strong sector capability.
PRECI’s Road Trip is designed to support this by:
- enabling services to embed the Framework with fidelity
- progressing the development of national professional standards
- strengthening coaching capability across ECI and ECE
- providing accessible, face-to-face learning and collaboration opportunities
Together, these elements support a more aligned, evidence-informed and high-quality early childhood intervention system.
PRECI will also release a Stakeholder Engagement Report summarising national consultations undertaken with members. The findings will inform the next phase of Framework implementation and the continued development of professional standards.
