Guardian increases wages for educators and teachers by 4.75%

Guardian Childcare & Education will increase wages for educators and teachers by 4.75%, passing on the full increase from this year’s Fair Work Commission wage decision.
Guardian has paid above-award wages to 100% of team members for many years, meaning the decision did not automatically apply in the same way across all Guardian roles.
But Guardian’s view was simple: the educators and teachers who care for and teach children every day should receive the full benefit of the increase because it believes the work of early childhood educators and teachers should be properly valued.
“Our teams do incredibly important work every day. They teach with purpose, support each child’s development, build confidence and help children discover what they are capable of. Families see, and really value, that work every day, and so do we,” Guardian CEO Warren Bright said.
“Passing on the full increase is one practical way we can show that we value our team’s skill, care and professionalism.
“Cost-of-living pressures are also real for our teams and their families. We want Guardian to be a place where great educators and teachers feel valued, supported and proud of the work they do.”
Mr Bright said investing in educators and teachers was also one of the most important ways to support children and families.
“Children thrive when they are surrounded by familiar educators and teachers who know them, understand them and believe in what they can become,” he said.
“That consistency matters. It helps children feel safe, confident and ready to learn.”
Guardian is one of Australia’s largest private providers of high-quality early childhood education and care and operates more than 170 early learning centres across Australia.
