Video profiles, in-depth screening, reliability scores – How QuickCare is de-risking recruitment

As the early childhood education and care sector prepares for another financial year, the team at QuickCare continues to deliver on what is becoming one of the biggest success stories in educator recruitment innovation in recent years.
“When we founded QuickCare back in 2022, we were very aware, from our own experience and listening to others, that there was a serious mismatch between the quality of educators being sourced through agencies and casual procurement platforms and what was really needed in the sector,” Chris Omeissah, Founder and Managing Director of QuickCare said.
“Securing casuals on short notice became almost like a lottery with approved providers having no confidence in the capability, competence or cultural fit of sourced staff which in turn created real concerns around quality care and by extension risk exposure.”
“It is this underlying dynamic that has driven QuickCare’s mission to raise the standard of care for kids with an app that helps retain and source the best educators, and remove the uncertainty, and the risk, associated with securing casual team members on short notice.”
Removing the “lottery” from securing casuals – Introducing video profiles and reliability scores
A core part of QuickCare’s reputation is its unwavering commitment to ensuring that every educator introduced through the app is not only a good fit for the centre but also fully qualified and capable.
“We really wanted to address the uncertainty that has historically been inherent in all agency or app based casual team mates sourced by a centre and used for the first time,” Mr Omeissah said.
The app includes an easy-to-use recording feature that allows educators in the casual pool to create 45-second video profiles. These profiles allow educators an opportunity to share their qualifications, interests and passions, offering prospective employers a quick, accessible way to get to know them beyond a resume.
When combined with reliability scores, which are essentially ratings provided by current and previous employers, any approved provider looking to secure short term support at their centre now has access to multiple data points to assess whether an educator is a good fit well before they arrive at the centre.
Highly reliable credential checking enabled by integrations with Government authorities
Through tailored integrations with key government agencies responsible for credential and qualification verification, the QuickCare platform gives approved providers early insight into whether prospective casual educators are both a good fit and appropriately qualified.
“The safety and wellbeing of children is our utmost priority and we can help approved providers solve for that by cross referencing qualifications with ACECQA and training.gov.au in real time for all of our educators on the app,” Mr Omeissah said.
Educators who do not meet the platform’s strict accreditation standards have their application rejected and are not accepted into the QuickCare educator pool.
For those that do pass the screening processes, which also includes an interview with QuickCare’s team, their qualifications and documents, including their WWCC, are made available on the platform for approved providers to review, and download if necessary.
QuickCare’s talent acquisition platform is more than an app, it’s a community
The committed and passionate team at QuickCare are clear in its ambition to disrupt the talent acquisition space by gradually and strategically leveraging its experience, track record and technology to address workforce needs in the early childhood education and care sector while building a connected community around its platform.
QuickCare began by addressing the challenge faced by large service providers in coordinating their own pool of casual staff to fill last-minute shifts. This functionality, known as “bring your own” (BYO), enables providers to manage their internal casual workforce more efficiently.
To support all service providers of all sizes, QuickCare expanded its offerings to include hire-on-demand casual recruitment, while also allowing providers to upload and manage their existing casual pool within the app. This enables daily workforce management in a smooth, secure and streamlined way. The platform also supports permanent and part-time employee placement.
“We have come a long way in the last few years but we feel strongly there are still so many ways that our platform, culture and mission can combine to help approved providers solve for additional workforce related needs, particularly in the recruitment space which as it stands looks ripe for disruption.”
As interest in QuickCare’s reliable and innovative solution grows, an increasing number of approved providers are adopting the platform, positioning it as a key component of future talent acquisition and workforce management in the ECEC sector.
