Ginna Webster appointed Secretary of the Department for Education in Tasmania

Ginna Webster has been appointed as Secretary of the Department for Education, Children and Young People, a position designed to advocate for improving opportunities for children and young people in Tasmania.
Ms Webster will oversee the Tasmanian Government’s significant reform program, including the state’s Lifting Literacy plan and implementing recommendations from the Independent Review of Education in Tasmania, Minister for Education Jo Palmer said.
“It has been fantastic working with Ms Webster since she stepped into the acting role in September, and I look forward to continuing to work together,” she added.
Minister for Children and Youth, Roger Jaensch, also welcomed Ms Webster’s appointment.
“We are working hard to deliver important reforms that will keep our children and young people safe, and Ms Webster will play a critical role in this process,” Minister Jaensch said.
“This includes the ongoing implementation of the Commission of Inquiry recommendations and reforming our youth justice system.”
“I look forward to working with Ms Webster to deliver for our children and young people as we implement our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future.”
