The Tasmanian Government has revived the highly successful ‘Tell Someone’ campaign during Children’s Week, recognising that all children deserve to be safe from child sexual abuse.

Minister for Children and Youth Roger Jaensch said that all children should feel safe and be safe in the places where they live, play and learn.

“There is nothing more important than ensuring young Tasmanians are safe and well,” Minister Jaensch said.

“Children need to be confident that they can speak up if something isn’t right and trust that they will be heard and believed.”

The re-launch of the ‘Tell Someone’ community awareness campaign will provide information to the Tasmanian community about where to get support and report child sexual abuse.

“Promoting ways people can get support in response to child sexual abuse and grooming, as well as providing contacts for parents, children, caregivers and community members,” Minister Jaensch said.

Further information and a list of available support services can be found on the website, www.tellsomeone.tas.gov.au.
