Gosford Cubbyhouse, a long day care service on the New South Wales Central Coast has welcomed news that it has been successful in gaining $121,500 in funding through the  Community Childcare Fund (CCCF).

The service will use the funding for capital upgrades and sustainability support, something which Member for Robertson Gordon Reid said will ensure that the centre remains sustainable and retains staff.

For Gosford Cubbyhouse Long Day Care Centre Management Committee President Ailie Thomas the funding was especially welcome at a time when the centre was facing cost of living pressures and region-wide staff shortages.

“The funding will go a long way to supporting our educators to achieve their development goals and improve overall job satisfaction, as well as alleviate some of the budget barriers to attracting new recruits as a not-for-profit organisation,” she shared with Coast Community News.

“A portion of the funding will also be put toward a much-needed overhaul of our outdoor play areas, to give our educators the opportunity to further encourage social connections and interest-based learning, and provide our kids and families with a new nature-based play setting that we can all be proud of.”
