Teaching new concepts, singing songs, helping children to explore, guiding children as they learn the social and emotional skills which set them up for life – there are so many layers to the role that early childhood education and care (ECEC) professionals do day in and day out.

It’s a role which is often underestimated and misunderstood by broader society, and that’s something that the team from Care for Kids wants to change with their  ‘Thank You Educators’ campaign, which aims to recognise and celebrate the incredible work of early childhood educators across Australia.

Launched in 2023, the campaign received more than 7,500 nominations in its first year, something the team hopes to beat in 2024, knowing that there are many unsung heroes in the ECEC who deserve a chance to shine.

Over 10,000 ECEC businesses and millions of young families will band together as part of the 2024 campaign to encourage everyone to show appreciation for the work that educators do.

In 2024, every nominated individual will receive a special gift, driving home the message that every ECEC professional is valued for the work they do.

Six lucky educators will receive a luxury weekend away in recognition of their outstanding contributions. People who nominate an educator will be recognised too, going into the draw to win a $500 VISA gift card.

“Early childhood educators are literally the heart and soul of the entire childcare sector, they shape the future by nurturing our youngest minds,” Care for Kids CEO Ash Sachdev said.

“We are excited to build on the success of last year’s inaugural campaign, and continue to show our gratitude to the dedicated professionals of ECEC. ‘Thank You Educators’ is our way of saying ‘we see you, we hear you, and we appreciate everything you do’,” he added.

As well as the amazing prize pool on offer, the Care for Kids team hopes the campaign will open up the conversation about the incredible contribution the ECEC sector makes not only to parents and families, but to society as a whole.

Nominations for this exciting opportunity for recognition and reward will open on Thursday 8 August, with winners to be announced on Wednesday 18 September 2024.
