Dr Suzy Tamone appointed as COO of C&K
Queensland based early childhood provider C&K has announced the appointment of Dr Suzy Tamone as its Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Dr Tamone joined C&K a few months ago as Head of Education Programs and Strategy, and has focused on overseeing the implementation of Queensland Government workforce strategy initiatives at C&K, aiming to build workforce capability.
“Suzy’s expertise in leading strategic initiatives in complex operating environments, adapting to changing demands and leading evolving teams to success will be highly valued within our organisation and a great asset to our executive management team,” C&K’s CEO Dr Sandra Cheeseman said.
Dr Tamone has extensive experience in the early childhood sector and deep knowledge of programs and settings across Queensland, which made her a standout candidate in a rigorous selection process for the COO role.
She also has the advantage of having been a Teacher and Director at both C&K Newmarket and Bucasia Community Kindergartens earlier in her career, Dr Cheeseman added.
Dr Tamone commenced her career as an early childhood teacher before moving into academic positions, later holding senior roles with a large-scale national early learning provider.
Following the departure of Kim Davis this week, Dr Tamone is taking over the role of COO with an exciting reform agenda before her and leading C&K’s early childhood teams.
Ms Davis will return to Melbourne to be with her family, and was fondly farewelled by the C&K team.
Dr Tamone said C&K welcomed the Queensland Government’s $33 million investment earlier this year to grow and support the capability of the Early Childhood Education and Care workforce.
“It is an exciting time to work in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector,” she said.
“The government’s increased investment in growing and supporting our workforce, together with the introduction of new funding and programs such as Free Kindy and Kindy Uplift, has seen C&K continue to grow and evolve as the leading provider of high quality early childhood education and care in Queensland.”
“Our entire organisation is embracing this government investment and continues to advocate for an early childhood system that has children, families and our workforce front of mind,” she added.
C&K wishes Dr Tamone every success in her new role as Chief Operating Officer and is currently recruiting for a new Head of Education Programs and Strategy. To view and apply for this role, visit the Career Listing, phone 1300 345 189, or email recruitment@candk asn au
