Emerging Minds releases resources to help understand child mental health

Emerging Minds has released a new suite of evidence-informed resources for parents to help them understand and support child mental health.
The collection includes animations, fact sheets, videos and podcasts. Together they offer accessible, practical information about what children’s mental health is, what shapes it, how to support it and what to look out for if a child might need some extra support.
Developed in collaboration with families and practitioners, the suite is an important tool for parents and professionals alike. It provides a comprehensive set of resources which early childhood education and care (ECEC) providers may wish to share with families.
These resources aim to strengthen families’ knowledge and confidence in talking about children’s mental health with practitioners and educators by offering a shared language and understanding of key child mental health concepts.
“We can’t prevent children from experiencing stresses and difficulties, but we can support parents to provide warm, consistent parenting to help children thrive,” an Emerging Minds representative said.
“By working together to build parents’ understanding of children’s mental health and how to nurture it, we can support better outcomes for children and families now and into the future.”
