Early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider Explorers Early Learning has appointed Kerrie O’Neill (M.Ed – Early Childhood) as its Pedagogical Thinker in Residence.

“I am honoured to join the Explorers team and contribute to the organisation’s commitment to excellence,” Ms O’Neill said.

“I believe that children are rich in potential from birth and that every child deserves the best possible start in life. I’m excited to work with the dedicated team at Explorers to make this a reality.”

Ms O’Neill has a strong professional background in ECEC, having held roles as an authorised officer, an early childhood trainer and assessor, a lecturer in the early childhood tertiary space, a service director, and as a founding member and former chairperson of the Reggio Emilia Australia Information Exchange.

She has a wealth of experience and expertise to bring to her new position, along with strong knowledge of the principles and practices that define quality early childhood education.

As Explorers’ Pedagogical Thinker in Residence, Ms O’Neill will play a pivotal role in highlighting the values and principles of the Reggio Emilia Educational Project and will work with all stakeholders to contextualise practice across Explorers’ services in the cultural context of Australia.

She will also work with Explorers to reimagine their professional learning programs, utilising her  passion for fostering a culture of excellence and her deep understanding of the Reggio Emilia philosophy which will make her a valuable addition to the Explorers team.

“We are delighted to welcome Kerrie to our team,” said Lynda Salvo, Founder and CEO of Explorers Early Learning.

“Her extensive experience and dedication to early childhood education align perfectly with our mission to provide quality care inspired by Reggio Emilia and ongoing professional learning opportunities for our valued team members.

“With Kerrie’s guidance, mentoring and support, we are confident that our services will continue to excel.”
