Vic Government partners with Moreland City Council for 11 ECEC builds or expansions
The Victorian Government has partnered with Moreland City Council, in Melbourne’s north, to deliver a multi-million-dollar pipeline of early childhood infrastructure projects which will boost early childhood education and care (ECEC) capacity in line with reforms.
Under a Building Blocks Partnership the Government will contribute up to $10.7 million to the works, with the first stage delivering more than 300 funded kindergarten places by 2025, with a further kindergarten project to be delivered during the second stage, from 2026.
The works will support the Victorian Government commitment to ECEC, with ECEC providers who deliver a funded kindergarten program in Victoria being eligible to receive Free Kinder funding from 2023 – saving families up to $2,500 per child, every year.
Free Kinder funding will be available to standalone kindergarten and long day care settings for children who are enrolled in a funded kindergarten program.
The new Building Blocks Capacity grant round is now open, with applications and information available here.
