Chris Scott appointed MD of Evolve amidst leaders reorganisation
Chris Scott, founder and former Managing Director of G8 Education, has been appointed Managing Director of Evolve Education Group effective 26 August 2019.
Mr Scott, who joined the Evolve board as a director in November 2018 and is the company’s largest shareholder with 18.96 per cent of the shares outstanding, will replace Rosanne Graham the Group’s current Chief Executive Officer who has resigned from her position.
Ms Graham joined Evolve in July 2018 from private tertiary education provider Ignite Colleges, a company she has continued to Chair since.
Commenting on the transition Acting Chair Norah Barlow noted that the move follows “deliberations by the board since the company’s recent capital raise” and thanked Ms Graham for her “significant contribution to the business.”
Chris Sacre confirmed as AU Country Manager with NZ Country Manager search started
In addition as part of a broader Group structure realignment, the company confirmed that Chris Sacre has been appointed Australia Country Manager and will be charged with continuing to lead the company’s growth plans and operations in Australia.
Mr Sacre, like Mr Scott, is a former G8 executive and was appointed a director of Evolve in November 2018.
In light of Ms Graham’s pending departure a search has commenced for a New Zealand Country Manager to lead the New Zealand operation and the company committed to updating shareholders as to the progress of the implementation of the New Zealand turnaround plan and Australian expansion at their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 18 September.
Board reset almost complete with retirement of Grainne Troute
The company also announced that Grainne Troute will be retiring from her position as a non executive Director of the company.
Ms Troute joined the Evolve Board in May 2017 at which point in time she held directorships at Tourism Holdings Ltd and Somerset Holdings Ltd and previously had been General Manager Corporate Services at Sky City Entertainment Group.
Ms Troute’s resignation follows the retirement of previous Chair Alistair Ryan in June 2019 and will now see the recruitment search for a new Chair, which is considering candidates from both Australia and New Zealand and is well under way, broadened to include a new independent Director.
