Goodstart Early Learning’s parenting website, First Five Years, has been shortlisted for an international website award, with Digital Managing Editor Belinda Reilly describing the nomination as “wonderful recognition of Goodstart Early Learning’s commitment to social purpose”.

The intention of the First Five Years site, Ms Reilly said “is purely to put highly credible information about parenting and the importance of early learning in the hands of parents”.

The First Five Years website was launched in 2018, with the aim of extending early childhood learning into the home, and creating a space where parents of children aged birth to five could find credible and professional information and advice about the early years.

A representative from Goodstart Early Learning said “From the outset, we understood there was no shortage of parenting websites and bloggers offering advice to parents. Where Goodstart felt there was an important gap was in offering quality content that was also written in a way that was accessible to parents.”

When asked about what makes her proud about the First Five Years page, Ms Reilly said “The product itself. When you stand back and look at First Five Years and a combination of the calibre of the people who have willingly given their time and expertise for the articles, and the standard of the site built, we have achieved something truly valuable for parents.”

“Parents have embraced (the intention of the site), supporting the site by reading and sharing the content with family and friends.”

To determine the overall Kentico Site of the Year – Global winner, a voting process will take place, with First Five Years supporters asked to visit the voting website, scroll down to the Non Government Organisation (NGO)  category, and vote for First Five Years prior to the close of voting on 23 April 2019.
