by Jason Roberts

December 03, 2018

G8 Education Ltd has appointed Louise Rush, formerly the Western and South Australian Regional Manager, to the new role of National Operations Manager.

The role has been created to provide additional support to G8’s operations division, and will ultimately see Ms Rush responsible for the performance of the centre network and the teams that operate them.

The key objectives of the role include:

  • executing group strategy as it pertains to the centre-based network;
  • providing direction, coaching and support to the groups regional managers;
  • promoting a culture across operations that is aligned with G8’s core values, and adheres to G8’s policy and procedures and the National Quality Framework; and,
  • building on current relationships with external stakeholders such as ACECQA and the state government departments of education and training.

Ms Rush said she was extremely excited to take on this new role as a passionate early education and care professional who feels strongly about the teams she works with and the children they educate and care for.

“Since joining the sector as a trainee I have always been a passionate advocate for the early learning and care of young children and feel honoured and privileged to take on this important new role within the organisation,” said Ms Rush.

She went on to add, “I feel that, more than ever before, I am now in a position to truly impact the lives of thousands of children and the teams that care and educate them on a daily basis. I have always felt strongly about making a difference and am excited to be able to do so in this new position.”

Ms Rush joined G8 as a Centre Manager in 2012. She has since worked in a number of progressively more senior roles including Area Manager and Regional Manager. Her most recent position was Regional Manager – Western and South Australia where she was tasked with stabilising the centre network following a decline in the region’s performance due to the end of the mining boom negatively impacting demand and an increase in new centres being opened creating a more competitive operating environment.

Ms Rush previously held a wide range of roles working directly with children and families, including Trainee, Educator, Room Leader, Educational Leader before moving into managerial roles as Assistant Manager at both large and small providers, prior to joining G8

Jason Ball, General Manager of Operations at G8 commented “Louise has extensive experience in early childhood education and has been a dynamic member of our team for many years, constantly demonstrating her dedication to the organisation and passion for the early education and wellbeing of children and their families.”

Mr Ball also noted that the new role and the appointment of Ms Rush underlines G8’s commitment to quality early education and a continued focus and support for all field operations.

“We are delighted Louise has accepted the appointment and look forward to the contribution she will make in her new role as National Manager of Operations.”

Ms Rush commenced the role on 1 October 2018.
