Rituals: Transforming practice from task-based chores to enjoyable moments of care

In this series of 6 online workshops we will actively explore how to change our practice with young children from routine happenings to care moments. These crucial times throughout the day: Nappy changes, toileting, meal times, sleep and rest, dressing and transitions can be transformed to provide opportunities for learning and connection between educators and children.

atherine will share videos, unpack practical examples of all care moments that contribute to a considerable part of our days and actively explore the concept of ‘care as curriculum’ which she focused on in her MEd research. We will learn how to transform practice from task-based chores to enjoyable moments of care. The workshops conclude with a focus on the role of the educational leader, room leader and future leader and how people in these roles can stimulate professional dialogue and transformative practice in teams.

Recordings of each session will be available on request for a period of one week after the session occurs. This series is designed to be interactive and therefore intending to simply watch recordings will not be suitable. Access to recordings will only be provided to registered participants who were unable to access a session due to a conflicting commitment or illness.
