Over the last two years, early childhood education around the globe has been challenged to re-examine its purpose and identity. The challenges of the pandemic era have meant practitioners had to find new ways of staying connected with children, families and community.

This session examines how the act of listening keeps us close to children and their learning processes, allowing educators an important opportunity to reinterpret our own role in the learning and teaching relationship.

Presenter Fiona Zinn

Drawing on three decades of experience in the early childhood, primary and tertiary sectors, Fiona Zinn collaborates with educators working in Australian and International settings to boldly re-imagine early years pedagogy, curriculum and learning environments in response to research. Fiona has a particular passion for supporting teams of teachers to develop a ‘shared pedagogy’ which holds agency at its heart, as they collaborate with colleagues, families and children.
