The service, located in the Woden Valley, is Ngunnawal country. We acknowledge and respect the Ngunnawal people as the traditional custodians of the ACT.

This approved provider boasts multiple OSHC services that provide children with recreation-based activities that emphasise social interaction and a sense of fun in a safe and secure environment.

We are seeking a part-time Team Leader to join the management team at this outside school hours service in Hughes.

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to support the current Service Manager in the day-to-day management, and implementation of a quality OSHC program.

The service has 2 Team Leaders who are each responsible for providing a program for a different age-group. This advertised Team Leader position will be responsible for the seniors’ program (children in year 2-6).

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Service Manager in the day-to-day running of the service including ensuring a quality planning cycle, menu development and the implementation of a developmentally appropriate program for your seniors’.

You will work with a consistent core team made up of 4 permanent part-time educators and 3 casuals.  We are looking for someone who has strong experience working with children, developing positive behaviour management strategies, supporting educators in their role & liaising with key stakeholders including the school executive team.

  • Above award wages – approx. $58K – $60K + super
  • Block shifts 1-6pm Monday – Friday (25 hours a week) for additional hours split shifts can be organised.
  • As Team Leader you will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation, management, and leadership of the senior’s program in this OSHC service.
  • Be the key contact & leader for the seniors’ program (up to 55 children).
  • Well supported position with 4x permanent part-time educators to ensure consistency for educators, children & families.
  • Opportunity to step into the position of Responsible Person in the absence of the Nominated Supervisor.

Who are we looking for?

  • Someone with previous experience in an Assistant Coordinator, Senior Educator or Team Leader position.
  • Diploma qualified preferred but not essential.
  • Someone with a strong understanding of child development, building positive relationships with children & engaging children in the program.
  • Someone who has the equivalent of at least 1 years of full-time study in a degree course and has two years’ experience working with children over preschool age.
  • Someone with strong leadership & management skills.
  • Someone who can continue to build strong partnerships with the school community and school executive team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NQF – NQS, Framework, Regulations.
  • CHCPRT001Identify and respond to children and young people at risk – Accredited Child Protection or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
  • HLTAID004Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
