The Opportunity: 
This role offers the opportunity to grow the business and further develop relationships with a wide range of school communities and cement SchoolPLUS as Queensland’s leading OSHC service provider.

Purpose of this Role: 
The General Manager Queensland is accountable for generating year-on-year profitability (through purpose) of the SchoolPLUS business. This requires that all strategic and operational planning aligns to corporate goals and that team structures are effective and aligned to our, vision, purpose and core values. Training, development and exemplary leadership is integral to this role.
In addition, the General Manager QLD is accountable for end-to-end compliance, governance and risk management of the business. The successful applicant will drive the strategic and operational direction of the business with regular and accurate information provided by, and in collaboration with the senior executive team.

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Work to purpose and values – build quality programs across each service ensuring we create safe spaces for every child to grow adhering to all local compliance laws
  2. Communicate, collaborate and engage staff with a sound strategy and operational plan that delivers results and provides stability across the team through performance, succession and clarity of annual and multi-annual priorities
  3. Oversee organizational marketing, collaborating closely with the marketing team and national stakeholders to deliver documented and coordinated growth plans across service numbers, recruitment, and social engagement.
  4. Build capacity and leadership in all team members to create a winning culture
  5. Drive team behaviors and collaboration across the organization to ensure 100% of the team are clearly aligned to our strategic direction.
  6. Report clear numbers and progress through scheduled and regular team meetings.
  7. Prepare personal quarterly role scorecard and gather team feedback to drive growth


About You: 

  • An experienced General Manager, or roles of a similar capacity
  • Experience in scaling small/medium businesses successfully
  • Sound experience or knowledge around the OSHC or Early Childhood sectors
  • Someone willing to put the children and staff at the forefront of decision making
  • Understanding of the legislative requirements around OSHC
  • Values driven leader with an open-door policy
  • Someone with a long-term strategic mindset who understands the importance of clearly defined short-term goals to achieve desired outcomes
  • Technologically minded, with innovative ideas to streamline operations
  • A lateral thinker

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Appropriate Tertiary qualifications
  • Senior Leadership experience

Commencing in November 2021 (or earlier by negotiation) and reporting to the CEO, the General Manager is offered on a permanent full-time basis.
