Jingiwallah – Hello (Bundjalung)

This is your opportunity to work in a new OSHC Service located in a small and beautiful river village. If you like serene country and river views and being in a peaceful regional environment, then this is the role for you!

  • New OSHC Service within a small school
  • Own and shared OSHC spaces within lovely school grounds and original buildings
  • Permanent part-time, 30 hours | Block shifts | Award Rate $32- $34 ph + super

This role is perfect for a 2IC looking for the next step in their career, someone looking for growth & development & someone looking to shape a Service from its inception.

Creativity and innovation are what we are looking for from a Coordinator, as we would love you to implement your ideas on how to run the Service. You will be a jack of all trades, as you will take on the Coordinator role, Nominated Supervisor, and the Educational Leader role. This may seem like a lot, however the Service will hold around 20 places.

Being community focused is a must in this role, as the local community is small, tight-knit and excited to welcome an OSHC Service for their children. Additionally, the school has an amazing relationship with the Indigenous community and would love their OSHC Service to reflect this. Thus, this role will allow you to be flexible and creative to meet the needs of the school and wider community. Having experience as an Educational Leader is necessary for this position, as you will be creating programs and facilitating the activities for the children.

It is important for the Coordinator to be a respectful and approachable leader that brings their own unique touch to the Service, whilst maintaining compliance, and focusing largely on meeting the needs of the children and the school community. Inclusivity in this Service will also be a main focus. You must be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders to ensure that this OSHC service is tailored to the needs of its intimate community.

Outline of the role:

  • Nominated Supervisor & Educational Leader position.
  • Starting in December.
  • Permanent part-time, 30 hours per week.
  • Block shifts.
  • Small Service with around 20 places.
  • Located by the river in a magical small village with a close community.
  • Flexible role. You get to shape this role yourself.
  • Educational Services (School) General Staff Award Level 7.1- 7.2 ($32- $34 ph + super, $49,920 – $53,040 per annum, plus 10% superannuation).
  • Beautiful school grounds with original buildings.
  • Own OSHC space and shared spaces within the lovely school grounds.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Service and lead a small team of educators.
  • Be a strong leader who is integrated within the school community. Ability to communicate consistently with key stakeholders, families and community members is necessary.
  • Be the Educational Leader of the Service by planning and programming activities that the children enjoy and encouraging educators to contribute to the program.
  • This Service will initially offer BSC, ASC and Vacation Care, and may adjust its services in time depending on popularity.

A little more about this Service:

  • A small Service within a small school.
  • Some set up and pack down. However, you will also have your own OSHC space.
  • A vast outdoor area that can facilitate a range of exciting outdoor activities.
  • Located in a beautiful regional setting by the river with real grass, open spaces, fresh air and lovely views.
  • Old, original school grounds that are picturesque.
  • The Service may have a high number of Indigenous children attending, as the school has a great relationship with the Indigenous community.
  • Very supportive school principal and staff.
  • School community is very close, with the Service aiming to be an extension of the school and local community.
