In this role….

You will work to strengthen our government relations and advocacy through identifying, managing, cultivating and nurturing government relationships that propel ARACY’s policy and research expertise into the government policies and programs that impact children and young people.

You will also work to ensure that the ARACY brand is clearly articulated and communicated to the appropriate audience and raise the profile of ARACY through all available channels including: media, social media and newsletters.


About You

  • Experience in dealing with governments and departments, particularly with the Federal Government, including working with ministerial offices to address issues and achieve policy outcomes
  • Strong network, including in Federal Government departments and ministerial advisers
  • Comprehensive understanding of political and bureaucratic processes, including how to influence key business critical decisions within governments
  • Genuine interest in the achievement of better outcomes for all children in Australia through systemic change
  • High level interpersonal skills, including communicating effectively in a variety of settings, and the ability to cultivate and maintain productive relationships.
  • Adept in taking complex information and nuanced subject matters and conveying these in a way that practitioners and young people can easily interpret and understand.

The benefits

ARACY offers flexible working arrangements and is located in central Canberra. A remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant, commensurate with skills and experience.
