The Gubbi-Gubbi people are the Indigenous people native to south-eastern Queensland including the area of Nambour.

 

The name Nambour is derived from the Indigenous word “naamba” referring to the red flowering tea-tree (callistemon viminalis).

 

This OSHC service seeks to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in their day-to-day practice with children and families through their ongoing commitment to reconciliation and acknowledgment of the local Gubbi Gubbi Tribe.

 

This not-for-profit service in the Nambour area, are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Assistant Director to join their team.

 

This service believes that each child has the right to be an active member of the community in which they live, to express their opinions, and to have their views considered in decisions that affect them.

 

We are seeking an OSHC educator with experience in leading teams to step into this Assistant Director & Educational Leader position. You will be well supported by the long-standing Director and team of part-time and casual educators. You will have the opportunity to mentor educators in their professional practice & embed the My Time Our Place Learning Framework into service daily routines.

What are we looking for?

  • Someone with experience in leading and mentoring teams of educators.
  • Someone with experience in Educational Leadership or is willing to undergo Professional Development in Educational Leadership.
  • Someone who is able to confidently lead and implement a quality educational program
  • Someone who has a solid understanding of the National Quality Framework and all it encompasses.
  • Someone who can mentor and support new educators in their roles
  • Someone who can challenge educators in their professional practice & lead a culture of ongoing quality improvement
  • Someone with experience in Educational Leadership or is willing to undergo Professional Development in Educational Leadership.
  • Someone who is collaborative and works well in a team environment.
  • Someone who is confident and feels comfortable liaising with families about their child’s participation in the program.
  • Someone who can develop & maintain strong relationships with children, families, school executives and the wider community.
  • Someone who has a good understanding of child development and child behaviours.
  • Someone who has a philosophy of child engagement when dealing with difficult behaviour.
  • CHCPRT001 Identify and respond to children and young people at risk – Accredited Child Protection or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
  • HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting or willingness to obtain (1 day training).

 

 

Child Safety:
Looking for an individual that understands, adheres, and promotes The National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. In your position, you will create a culture, adopt strategies, and take action to promote child wellbeing and prevent hard to children and young people.
