We are seeking a driven, enthusiastic, and experienced leader who is motivated to further children’s developmental and educational journeys by facilitating exceptional programs and supporting a passionate Coordinator.  Join experienced, energetic, and knowledgeable educators who always foster positive relationships with the children.

It is important for the Assistant Coordinator / Educational Leader to be a respectful and approachable Second in Charge (2IC) that complements the role of the Coordinator in managing the team. Being accessible and friendly towards parents and key stakeholders and in the wider community is also necessary to ensure this beloved OSHC Service continues to meet the needs of the children and families.

Outline of the role:

  • Assistant Coordinator / Educational Leader. You will be the 2IC of the Service.
  • Full-time, 38 hours per week.
  • Flexible shifts. A mix of block and split shifts can be provided.
  • Licenced for under 100 children.
  • Above award pay pending qualifications and experience (approx. $65K – $70K per annum, plus 10% superannuation).
  • Support the Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operations of the Service. You will work in sync on strategic planning, management of educators, community engagement and much more.
  • Be surrounded by a team of passionate, and lively educators who work every day to create an environment that furthers the children’s development and educational journeys.

  • The team is excited to welcome a new Assistant Coordinator / Educational Leader to the Service.
  • The educators are knowledgeable, mature, and experienced.
  • The large and homely OSHC space is perfect to facilitate a range of activities. And the best part, no pack down / set up!
  • A designated OSHC office space is available away from the floor to ensure uninterrupted programming time.
  • Approved Provider is a community based, NFP organisation with a Parent Management Committee.

Getting to know you:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the NQF and all that it embodies (e.g. NQS, Laws & Regulations, My Time, Our Place Framework).
  • Experience within an Assistant Coordinator (2IC level) role within a OSHC or Early Childhood Education service.
  • Competent computer skills and willingness to learn new systems.
  • A flexible, approachable, leader, who can be professional and compliance driven- you must be able to understand the changing needs of the OSHC profession.
  • High emotional intelligence and communication skills that allow you to adapt to suit different stakeholders.
  • A positive role model for children and other staff members.
  • Strives to facilitate the learning and development of children through all aspects of the program you create.
  • Able to engage all staff members in the planning cycle and encourage educators to make regular contributions to programming.
  • Able to support the Coordinator with the continuous improvement of the Service, and work in tandem with them to meet shared goals.
  • Holds or working towards a relevant qualification in OSHC or Early Childhood Education or another relevant industry such as a  Certificate IV, Diploma, or above.
  • Possesses current ‘HLTAID004– Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting’ Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Possesses current ‘CHCPRT001– Identify and respond to children and young people at risk’ training (or willingness to obtain).
  • Criminal History Check.
  • Valid and current NSW Paid Working with Children Check.

COVID-19 Vaccination:

It is a requirement in NSW that any ECEC (and OSHC) staff across the state have to receive two doses of a COVID-19 vaccination by 8 November 2021.
