As the Safeguarding Lead at Junior Adventures Group, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of safeguarding policies are implemented effectively across the organisation, with a focus on prevention, education, and response to safeguarding concerns.

About the role

You will support our staff by providing advice on incidents and concerns; developing and implementing procedures and supporting resources; developing and delivering training; and auditing the safeguarding practices in our programs and services to help inform our continuous improvement.

• Champion cultural safety, advocate for diverse groups, and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies
• Design and deliver safeguarding training, maintain records, and promote effective tools
• Serve as the primary contact for safeguarding concerns, manage incidents, and liaise with authorities
• Regularly review and improve safeguarding measures, integrate them into activities, and maintain accurate records and reports

Who are we looking for?

We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have:

Required:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a safeguarding role
• Passion for creating a safe environment for children and young people
• Creative and innovative outlook
• Collaborative, resourceful, and composed
• Full time ongoing Australian work rights

Desirable:

• Bachelor qualification in a relevant field such as Education, Youth Work, Social Science, Social Work, Nursing, Sport and Recreation
• Experienced developing and implementing safeguarding procedures and processes
• Experienced working directly with children and young people, and delivering training
