Position: ECT Educational Leader

The Centre
Based in Waverley, our client is a boutique community-oriented Long day care centre. They are dedicated to providing high-quality learning to their children, as well as emphasizing the importance of building strong connections with families, the local community, and their respected team.


Key Responsibilities

1. Curriculum Development:
   
   • Design and implement a school readiness curriculum that addresses cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
   • Incorporate play-based learning and hands-on activities to engage children in meaningful learning experiences.
2. Staff Training and Support:
   
   • Provide ongoing professional development for educators on school readiness strategies and best practices.
   • Mentor and support staff in implementing the school readiness curriculum effectively.
3. Family Engagement:
   
   • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with families to support children's learning and development.
   • Organize workshops and informational sessions for parents on how to prepare their children for school.
4. Assessment and Evaluation:
   
   • Implement assessment tools to monitor children's progress and identify areas needing additional support.
   • Use data to inform instructional practices and make necessary adjustments to the curriculum.
5. Community Collaboration:
   
   • Collaborate with local schools and community organizations to create a seamless transition for children entering school.
   • Advocate for resources and support services that benefit children's school readiness.
6. Inclusive Practices:
   
   • Ensure that the school readiness program is inclusive and meets the needs of all children, including those with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
   • Promote an environment that values diversity and fosters a sense of belonging for every child.

What we need from you

• A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or ACECQA-assessed equivalent.
• NESA accreditation
• Proven experience in an Educational leader role within an early childhood setting.
• A deep understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
• Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for early childhood education and a commitment to continuous improvement.
