EdGrants Online to deliver smarter grants management for early childhood services

by Fiona Alston

December 10, 2025

A new digital platform for managing early childhood program grants will launch across Queensland in January 2026, promising faster submissions, real-time updates and stronger data security.

The Queensland Government will introduce EdGrants Online, a new grants management system designed to replace QGrants and manual processes currently used by service providers. The system will streamline how early childhood education and care (ECEC) services interact with government-funded programs, enhancing both efficiency and transparency.

EdGrants Online is set to improve the grant experience for providers by enabling:

  • Simplified, structured submissions
  • Real-time tracking of application status and communication
  • Reduced administrative follow-ups
  • Enhanced security for sensitive service data

Importantly, payments to services will not be disrupted during the transition to the new platform.

To support the roll-out, the Department of Education will provide:

  • Regular email updates to all service providers
  • Showcase sessions demonstrating the platform’s features and functionality
  • Online training and resources to help services prepare and adapt

The rollout will occur progressively, with support offered throughout each stage. Services are encouraged to bookmark the official EdGrants Online information page for ongoing updates, resources and guidance.
