Dr Megan Gibson appointed as Chair of C&K Board, promising continued leadership and innovation

C&K has announced the appointment of Dr Megan Gibson as the new Chair of its Board, reinforcing the organisation’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality early childhood education and care (ECEC) across Queensland.
Dr Gibson’s relationship with C&K spans both personal and professional realms. Having first experienced C&K as a kindergarten participant herself, she later became deeply involved professionally, notably leading a centre praised for innovative educational practices. Her extensive service includes roles as centre manager, Board member, and now Chair.
Currently an Associate Professor in early childhood at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Dr Gibson has earned national recognition for her research in early childhood workforce development. Her significant contributions, particularly regarding educator identity and professional practices, have directly influenced policy frameworks and set professional standards within the sector.
Dr Gibson is a passionate advocate for reconciliation and remains committed to guiding C&K toward inclusivity and forward-thinking practices. Her vision aligns closely with C&K’s strategic goals of creating bold and inclusive opportunities for children, families, and communities across the state.
